GBYC update Prior to states

Hi all
Just a quick update on GBYC last two weeks,

Week one saw the running of the Bill Steele Memorial, which is an all in event for all classes,
this year with a bit of breeze was made for cats and sharpies.
Thanks to a clever port/starboard on the tornado by Amber Dreams resulting in the biggest threat to the sharpies having to retire leaving the sharpies to almost have a clean sweep on the event.
The sharpies finished the windward leeward course within 36 seconds of each other. Close racing.
The eventual winner was Suicide Blonde and not sure of the other placings

Week two was the running of a club heat again in some breeze
this ensured some wild reaches under kite with a few big bear aways and one very spectacular capsize thanks to the lads on The Asylum
Again close racing ensued with the chocolates going to Norma followed by the rest not too far apart.

This weekend is the states so looking forward to seeing a few boats and some good racing
see you there
Briefing is at 10.30 sat with first start scheduled for noon
