Return to Bunbury

Sharpies made their return to Koombana Bay Sailing Club on Saturday after too many years away. Seven boats made the start - five from Busselton (a top effort guys), Warren Drew and Keith Bryce of KBSC aboard Just Suburban Boys with Warren's 10yo son Will making his sharpie debut on sheet. Mainiacts from Mounts Bay rounded it out.

A 10-15 knot southerly made for some great kite runs out and around the harbour marks. Laurie Francis in Amber Dreams pulled away on the first leg, but later had to hold off Mozz and Craig Francis, finishing in that order.

Further back, The Asylum and Mainiacts had a tense inshore battle on the last leg, after both boats recovered from capsize and kite problems respectively, with the inmates just tipping out the Paul Main green machine. All agreed it was a great day, nicely finished off with a few beers while taking in the harbour views.
